App Design
Designing an Accessible Mobile App for a Fitness Center
Design an accessible mobile app that empowers people of all abilities to reach their fitness goals.
Introduction:
Gold Star Fitness, a local gym, wanted to create a mobile app that would improve user engagement and make fitness accessible to a wider audience. Their existing website was clunky and not mobile-friendly.
Challenge & Solution:
The challenge was to design an app that was user-friendly, informative, and catered to individuals of all fitness levels. Accessibility was a major focus, ensuring the app could be used by people with disabilities.
My solution was a clean and intuitive app design with a focus on clear navigation and visual hierarchy. The app offered features like workout routines, class schedules, and progress tracking. The interface was optimized for different screen sizes and incorporated accessibility features like high-contrast text and voice control options.
Impact:
The launch of the Gold Star Fitness app resulted in a surge in new memberships and increased class attendance. Users praised the app's ease of use and the variety of workout options offered. The app also received positive feedback for its accessibility features.
Conclusion:
This project showcases my ability to design user-centered mobile applications that prioritize inclusivity and cater to a diverse range of users.
